4J58 is an alloy with a certain expansion coefficient in the temperature range from room temperature to 600°C. The expansion coefficient is basically the same as that of steel and cast iron at ambient temperature, and has good processing performance. It has good dimensional stability and certain corrosion resistance in long-term use.

Application Scenario

4J58heat treatment system: The expansion coefficient performance test specimen specified in the standard is heated to 900°C ± 20°C in hydrogen or vacuum, kept for 1 hour, and cooled to below 200°C at a speed of no more than 5°C/min.
4J58 smelting and casting process: After smelting in a non-vacuum induction furnace or electric arc furnace, electro slag redissolution is performed.


4J58Application Overview and Special Requirements: 4J58 alloy has stable performance and is mainly used to make precision linear rulers (standard rulers) that transmit standard lengths at room temperature (20°C), and to make grading rulers fixed on the bed of coordinate boring machines. Special attention should be paid to the content of carbon and other impurities during production and acceptance, as they are one of the causes of dimensional instability.
